SUMMARY:Opera Del Sol Double Feature: Susanna’s Secret and Trouble In Tahiti
DESCRIPTION:🎭 Opera Del Sol Presents: A Double Dose of Wit and Reflection 🎭Susanna’s Secret by Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari & Trouble in Tahiti by Leonard Bernstein \nExperience an evening of contrasting operatic gems as Opera Del Sol brings two captivating one-act operas to the Orlando stage for the first time. \nSusanna’s SecretComposed by Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari in 1909\, this delightful intermezzo offers a comedic glimpse into marital suspicion and the quirks of domestic life. When Count Gil detects the scent of tobacco on his wife\, Susanna\, he suspects infidelity. The truth\, however\, is far more amusing. With its elegant score and light-hearted narrative\, Susanna’s Secret has charmed audiences for over a century . \nTrouble in TahitiLeonard Bernstein’s 1952 opera paints a poignant portrait of suburban disillusionment. Following a day in the life of Sam and Dinah\, a couple ensnared in the monotony of 1950s American life\, the opera delves into themes of communication breakdown and the pursuit of genuine connection. Bernstein’s blend of jazz\, popular music\, and classical elements creates a soundscape that is both nostalgic and critically reflective . \nThis unique pairing juxtaposes the light-hearted with the introspective\, offering audiences a rich tapestry of operatic storytelling. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness two masterful works that\, together\, explore the complexities of love\, trust\, and the human experience. \n\nStay tuned for ticket information and performance details!
