SUMMARY:Heated Ribaldry: An Opera of Musical Proportions
DESCRIPTION:From the award-winning team behind Cocaine Bear: The Opera (Patron’s Pick and Best of Fringe)\, comes Heated Ribaldry: An Opera of Musical Proportions—a wildly entertaining\, high-energy parody that blends opera\, musical theatre\, dance\, and just the right amount of scandal. \nInspired by the hit TV series Heated Rivalry\, this unapologetically bold production follows superstar hockey rivals Ilya and Shane\, whose on-ice competition melts into something far more unexpected. Featuring live music\, sultry choreography\, and a delightfully over-the-top Russian dream ballet\, this is Fringe at its most fearless. \n“The mission of Opera del Sol is to bring opera to people who would normally not attend it\,” says Artistic Director and show writer Eric Pinder. “And what better way to do that than with hockey\, humor\, and a bunch of super attractive gay men? Just like in Cocaine Bear\, I’ve taken existing music and changed the lyrics to tell this story.” \nKnown for his signature style of reimagining familiar music with entirely new (and often hilarious) lyrics\, Pinder leans fully into the absurdity and heart of Fringe storytelling. \n“I’m uniquely qualified to write this show\, as my three major interests are hockey\, gay men\, and opera — not necessarily in that order\,” says Pinder. \nPinder is joined by Music Director\, Victoria Wells (The Music Man\, in Concert and Operatic Double Bill) whose talent for delivering incredible musical performances promises the singing will shine. Starring Eli Hamilton as Shane and Ethan Garrepy as Ilya\, the production features a dynamic ensemble including John Teixeira as Scott\, Derrick Taylor-White as Kip\, and Aaliyah Amarante\, Roselyn Garcia\, Daniel Martinez the ensemble —delivering powerhouse vocals\, bold characters\, and undeniable chemistry. \nWhether you’re an opera aficionado\, a Fringe junkie\, or someone who’s never set foot in either world\, Heated Ribaldry will be the show everyone is talking about at this year’s festival. Because at the end of the day… love is a full-contact sport. \n \nMay 14\, 2026 – 8:20 PM May 16\, 2026 – 7:35 PM \nMay 17\, 2026 – 10:50 PM May 18\, 2026 – 8:50 PM \nMay 20\, 2026 – 9:50 PM May 23\, 2026 – 2:55 PM \nMay 24\, 2026 – 3:10 PM \n \n \n
\n<div class=”sc_item_button sc_button_wrap”><a class=”sc_button sc_button_decoration sc_button_size_normal sc_button_icon_left” href=”https://orlandofringe.ssboxoffice.com/events/heated-ribaldry-an-opera-of-musical-proportions/”>Get Tickets
\n
