CFVA Students in the Community
Central Florida Vocal Arts offers music education opportunities throughout our community to students of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds. We believe no one is too young or too old to begin their journey of musical discovery!
From assisted living facilities such as the Mayflower of Winter Park, to the Boys and Girls Club in Eatonville and the Pace School for Girls in Winter Park, we are bringing important programming and life skills to these underserved communities and populations.
We also partner with other community organizations such as the Maker Effect Foundation, Orange County and Winter Park Libraries, and Audubon Park Church to bring arts education to a wider audience.
Camp Boggy Creek is partnering with Central Florida Vocal Arts & Central Florida Community Arts for a spectacular theater experience! This accessible, instructional theater program is designed for young adults
ages 10-18 with a disability that inhibits participation in other theater programs.
March 24th – April 11th, M-F, 4-6 pm. Parents can stay at Camp and enjoy time with other parents in our gorgeous air-conditioned dining hall.
The program will be held in Camp Boggy Creek’s state-of-the-art and wheelchair
accessible Universal Studios Theater. Ending on April 11th with a 1-hour musical production at 6:00 PM for friends and family to cheer on their loved ones!
At the Winter Park Library
Central Florida Vocal Arts partners with Winter Park Library for workshops such as Storytelling Through Song, Maker Day, and lecture recitals to bring awareness to important social issues.
As part of our production of The Sound of Music, CFVA presented a lecture recital focusing on the war in Ukraine. Look for more CFVA programming at Winter Park Library.
At "I Am Enough, You Are Enough"
In February 2023, singers from CFVA joined together with singers from the Orlando Choral Society, the University of Central Florida, Opera Orlando, and Central Florida Community Arts’ Symphony to form a 400-person chorus and present a free concert in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. titled “I Am Enough, You Are Enough,” at Steinmetz Hall at Dr. Phillips Center.
Arts 1:1
Launched in 2019, Arts 1:1 aims to increase opportunities for private music lessons to students who otherwise would be financially unable to access them. Arts leadership recognized that demographics of students participating in higher level music education opportunities did not reflect the classroom demographics, often because of financial barriers. To bridge this gap, CFVA offers 30-minute weekly voice lessons to students eligible to receive free or reduced lunch, free of charge. Over the past three years, this program has expanded by nearly 800% to include Orange and Osceola County Public Schools and Pace Center for Girls in Winter Park. Through this program, we increase accessibility while building a pipeline for new and diverse talent. Moreover, we cultivate leadership, empathy, creativity, problem solving, confidence and more, through lessons and outcomes, which have a positive application across sectors, regardless of future endeavors.
