Mckenzie Ouzts

Biography

Columbia, South Carolina native, McKenzie Ouzts graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in Music Education and a certificate in Vocal Performance. Her foundational educational philosophies center on Music Play (Gordon Institute of Music Learning) and Arts Integration. She also holds her M.A. in Arts & Culture Management with a focus in Arts Marketing from the University of Denver. Her diverse career has spanned teaching General Music and directing chorus at a Title I Arts Magnet elementary school, providing freelance Arts Integration tutoring services, facilitating events as a Children's Activities Host at the Walt Disney World Resort, and leading high-impact practices such as cultural exchange and study abroad programs based in Arts Entertainment for a Living & Learning Community at the collegiate level.

McKenzie's passion for her work is based upon the principle of Creative Placemaking, the process by which arts and culture organizations, community developers, and other stakeholders at large implement and foster the arts uniquely within their collective as a means of social justice and equality for all.
